Students from Dr. Dawson's Wildlife Conservation class including myself staged a series of presentations aimed at educating local elementary and middle school children about wildlife conservation and other sustainability issues. Approximately 400 students ranging from grades three through seven attended the presentations. The projects demonstrated ways in which children might take small steps in their own lives to make a positive environmental difference. My presentation centered around the burrowing owl, a cute little bird that is endangered in most of the eastern USA including Lancaster, PA.
